Frequently Asked Questions

Comprehensive medical oncology in Istanbul for breast, lung, colorectal, gynecologic, prostate, gastric, pancreatic, head & neck cancers and metastatic disease, within a multidisciplinary tumor board.

Plans are based on stage, pathology, biomarkers (e.g., hormone receptors/HER2, EGFR/ALK, PD-L1), prior treatments, and overall health—balancing effectiveness and quality of life.

Chemotherapy attacks fast-growing cells.

Targeted therapy blocks specific cancer drivers (given as pills or infusions).

Immunotherapy helps your immune system recognize and fight cancer. Many modern plans combine these for best results.

Fatigue, nausea, hair loss, mouth sores, or low blood counts can occur. We use preventive anti-nausea meds, growth-factor support, scalp-cooling when suitable, and close monitoring to minimize risks.

Ports simplify repeated infusions and protect veins. Placement is a short procedure under local anesthesia; most patients use the port the same or next day.

Commonly every 2–3 weeks (some weekly). A typical course lasts 3–6 months, adjusted by response and tolerability.

Many targeted therapies are oral; labs and virtual check-ins can be organized between clinic visits. Safety monitoring remains essential.

For a first visit, plan 3–5 days for consultation, labs, imaging review, and port placement if needed. Infusion cycles can be scheduled to cluster sessions, and we can arrange airport–clinic transfers and nearby hotels.

Pathology report, biomarker results, operation notes, prior chemo/immunotherapy summaries, DICOM scans (CT/MRI/PET) on USB, medication/allergy list, and recent blood tests.

When suitable, you’ll be informed about ongoing trials or referred to partner centers. Trials follow strict ethical approvals and may offer access to novel therapies.
